In most cases, yes. Even when a battery is integrated into the frame, many e-bikes allow the battery to be removed by taking off a protective cover. Please check your specific e-bike model to confirm that battery removal is possible.
When a battery is charged while attached to the bike, it is not isolated from its surroundings. In the event of a fire, this increases the risk of the fire spreading to nearby objects or the rest of your home. An Ampliuz charging cabinet isolates the battery, significantly reducing the risk of fire propagation
There is no definitive yes or no answer. In most cases, charging an e-bike battery is safe and the risk of fire is low. However, the condition of a battery can be difficult to assess over time, as it is exposed to weather, vibrations, and potential impacts during use. A charging cabinet therefore acts as an additional safety measure. If you choose to charge your battery indoors, we strongly recommend following the guidelines provided by your local fire department and checking their most recent recommendations.
