First public charging network in Norway
Bringing public ebike charging to Norway – Our journey begins

At Ampliuz, we’ve always believed that making micromobility easy, safe and accessible is key to creating greener cities. Now, we’re excited to share a major milestone: we’ve launched Norway’s first public charging network for private ebikes.
The first two stations are already live here in our hometown of Stavanger, and this is just the beginning. Throughout this year, we’ll be adding more locations across the city before expanding to other parts of Norway and, eventually, international markets.
“Norway is the perfect place to pilot our public charging solution,” says our CEO Kristian Hoff. “With explosive growth in ebikes, high private car costs and a population eager to adopt new technology, we see huge potential for a national network.”
Our first stations are strategically placed in Stavanger city centre to serve key public destinations – from concert arenas and parking garages to the university. Each station consists of secure charging cabinets designed for specific battery types, such as Bosch or Shimano. Users simply remove their battery, place it inside one of the cabinets, and charge it safely. Depending on the battery state, charging takes between one and four hours. The system also monitors temperature and power usage, and can heat batteries during cold weather to protect performance.
So far, Ampliuz has delivered over 100 charging solutions to corporate customers across Norway. This rollout marks our first step into the public space for private ebike owners – and we’re thrilled to be making charging more accessible for everyone.
Looking ahead, we plan to expand the Stavanger network further this year in collaboration with local partners and the municipality. Next year, we’ll be focusing on other Norwegian cities – with Oslo high on the list – before piloting internationally in the UK and Germany.
Stay tuned – the journey to a truly connected ebike charging network is just beginning.
