We're Building a Public E-Bike Charging Network — Here's Why and How

Ampliuz is launching a public e-bike charging network in Norway, with plans to expand across Europe—making sustainable urban mobility easier and more accessible.

At Ampliuz, we're on a mission to make cycling the obvious choice over driving — not just for a few, but for everyone. That’s why we’re developing a public charging network for privately owned e-bikes, taking inspiration from the now well-established infrastructure supporting electric vehicles.

We started our journey in Norway, where, despite long winters and frequent snow, cycling is surprisingly common for everyday transport. We've already installed over 100 e-bike charging stations for corporate clients across the country. Now, we’re taking the next big step: rolling out public charging stations in major Norwegian cities, starting with our first installations in Stavanger city center.

“We want to make it easier and safer to choose cycling over driving,” says our CEO, Kristian Hoff. “With our charging service, more people can confidently use their e-bike for commuting or heading into the city — and those who want to support cycling can do so reliably.”

This effort isn’t limited to Norway. We're preparing to scale our network across Europe, because we know that when charging becomes convenient and accessible, more people will choose electric bikes. Just look at the booming cycling scenes in cities like Paris and London, where new cycling infrastructure has made a dramatic impact on behavior and city life.

Why Public Charging for E-Bikes Matters

While EV chargers are quickly becoming a standard part of new housing and urban planning, public e-bike chargers remain rare. This means riders are often forced to plan their trips more carefully, carry personal chargers, or worry about running out of power mid-ride. That’s where we come in.

We believe e-bikes deserve the same level of convenience as electric cars — and we’re building the infrastructure to support that. Our charging stations are designed for safety, reliability, and user-friendliness, so that anyone, anywhere, can top up their battery and keep moving.

Scaling Up and Looking Ahead

To bring our vision to life on a larger scale, we're preparing for a new capital raise. Backed by existing American investors, we’re now opening conversations with both Norwegian and international partners. The funding will power our growth — from expanding the network within Norway to launching internationally.

We’re already planning pilot projects in the UK and Germany for next year. As we learn more about user habits, we’ll refine our pricing, which currently starts at €1 per charge.

“This is just the beginning,” says Kristian Hoff. “We're building the infrastructure that will make e-bike commuting mainstream — and we're inviting partners and cities to join us in making it happen.”

Part of a Growing Movement

We’re excited to be part of a wider shift across Europe toward cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable mobility. From innovations like Tiler’s conductive charging kickstand to Powershelter’s public lockers in Amsterdam, and even Bosch’s growing charging network, it’s clear: the future of micromobility is electric — and it’s here.

At Ampliuz, we’re proud to be helping shape that future, one charging station at a time.

Let us know if you'd like to explore partnership opportunities, invest in the next stage of our growth, or bring Ampliuz stations to your city. We're just getting started.
